WEA Regional Operations Manager

WEA is a national adult education charity with a total of nine regional offices and numerous study centres and home based workers. West Midlands Region is located in Birmingham and currently uses an Avaya phone system.

Due to a national decision to outsource IT support, regions were advised to seek phone maintenance contracts as there would no longer be a national assistance agreement. As Regional Operations Manager, I was charged with obtaining quotes and outlining a specification for the regions requirements. Future Voice and Data were by far the most cost effective and appropriate solution for our needs and once terms had been agreed, they attended site to reconfigure our existing system to suit staff requirements.

As our main contact, Mark Darby is an invaluable source of information of support which was critical when the region was required to roll out a telephone enrolment system. Mark’s input meant that the project ran smoothly from start to finish and included staff training for phone users who I line manage. Knowing that the telecoms side of the project was taken care of, allowed me to focus my efforts on the multiple administrative aspects prior to the system going live.

Maintenance and repairs to our system have always been carried out with the utmost professionalism and to excellent timescales. This became apparent when the office experienced a complete failure of the Avaya system which was replaced within a matter of hours.

As a result of our positive experience I have been more than happy to recommend Future Voice and Data to colleagues requiring phone maintenance in other regions which has resulted in the agreement of further contracts.

City of Leicester College

As part of the Leicester City’s building school for the future scheme, The City of Leicester College was awarded a new building and the telecommunications aspect was very important to us. We had been using a very outdated system for many years and the support in finding an excellent quality product that offered value for money was paramount. Future Voice and Data understood our requirements and guided us through every step of the journey, with efficiency, professionalism and diligence.

With learning a lot of new systems at the same time, it was inevitable that I would not always remember how to do things and have on at least one occasion required bailing out because I had created a problem. Future Voice and Data dealt with my inefficiencies in a speedy and accurate way which enabled us to carry on without disruption.

Future Voice and Data are just as supportive today two years down the line as they were at the beginning. I have worked with Future Voice and Data on several implementations and found each project to run smoothly and as planned. Each stage of both projects was explained step by step and expectations set accordingly. The first project was to replace an existing system with new VoIP system. When the time came for install the equipment was delivered well in advance and the project started on time. The units were installed and the cutover happened as planned with good communication throughout. The training to staff was well received and the supporting notes were very helpful.

The system ran for almost 6 months and then we transferred to a brand new building. This again was planned and executed as agreed and the team worked hard to make the migration as pain-free as possible. Future trained the system admins, and supported the onsite project team to keep everything on schedule and as planned. The migration included extra handsets and changes to the original setup and these were all managed quickly and with no-fuss.

The only issues that have arisen have been with a few licences issues and some confusion on billing, but these have been sorted out quickly and promptly by the Future team.

As a busy college with the need to have phones all over the site, the solution has been great, robust and easy to manage, the delivery by the team has been first class. I would not hesitate to use them again or contact them for any type of telecoms query and really enjoyed the experience of working with a set of professional, well skilled and lovely folk. I will recommend them to other companies and people we work with and I hope I continue to deal with them in the future.

We purchased an AVAYA telephone system from Future Voice & Data in July 2014.

This was a totally new commission for us; we were moving premises and there was no previous installation at the property at all, no internal cabling, no existing incoming lines. We were totally starting from scratch, in a 3-storey, Georgian, Grade II listed building.

We had little knowledge of the type of systems currently available and no understanding of hybrid systems, VoIP and what type of system would best suit out needs. We just knew we needed a reliable, cost effective, future-proof communication system, commissioned and working to exact deadlines with the minimum of fuss.

We had no previous knowledge of Future Voice & Data. We found them from a Google search.

We obviously met with other suppliers but none gave us as much confidence as Future that they could deliver what we expected.

We have not been disappointed with our choice.

Our initial contact was with Tom Shirley – Tom is very knowledgeable of his subject and his approach to building us a bespoke system extremely professional. We felt very confident in taking his advice. He guided us seamlessly through the initial proposal and the tweaking of the finer detail, so that the system and services matched our specific needs perfectly.

The Future Voice & Data support team project managed the commission totally, liaising with other contractors/external agencies on our behalf, pulling the whole installation together.

All services were provided on time, were as expected and everything was commissioned at our property hassle free, with all communications up and running on the day we moved in without a hitch.

For the last few years I’ve been delivering schools where Telephony / VOIP were out of scope and so my understanding of what could be achieved and implemented wasn’t very advanced. Moving onto my next projects where VOIP was in scope, I’d been asked to use a supplier that I hadn’t been involved with, Future Voice and Data.

From the start it was a positive experience with my initial engagements responded to promptly and meetings with the school scheduled very quickly.

Future Voice and Data were able to explain the capabilities of the new solution to the school clearly and simply whilst being able to suggest solutions to their requirements without inflating the price.

The team were able to respond to requests from the school throughout the design period and even manage the interaction with BT regarding ordering and commissioning new WAN links, Redcare lines and ISDN lines.

Whilst on site, Future Voice and Data were able to adapt to the ever changing environment (it was a live building site!) and still deliver the product on time. Their training and support with the schools was excellent spending additional time with users who were struggling.

Overall, I would be happy to and certainly wouldn’t hesitate to work with Future Voice and Data again.

Having worked with FVAD on multiple projects in the Leicester BSF Programme, I have found them to be professional, reliable and customer focussed.

From early design meetings with clients, through to on site delivery they ensured that the customer’s requirements were understood and met and that the end users were trained to use the solution.

All work was completed on time and they took on additional responsibility of managing the BT interface for telephone line installation and moves.

Any issues, add, moves and changes have been dealt with efficiently either by remote access or a site visit to ensure the fastest possible resolution.
